Since 2010, the Center for Mathematical Talent has made great strides in bringing afterschool math programs to talented young students, many of whom are from groups who are underrepresented in STEM fields. Math enrichment programs supported by CMT help supplement the math instruction taught in New York City public schools and improve students’ aptitude of mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and logic. CMT partners and collaborates with government and other nonprofit organizations, including the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development to provide out of-school programming to communities throughout New York City.
The Center not only organizes and co-organizes math enrichment programs for students, but also holds training workshops for instructors.
