Prospective Students

Eligibility Requirements

Before applying for GSTEM, please read the requirements below to confirm eligibility.

Who is it for

The program is open to current juniors with a high aptitude in STEM and an interest in learning in an environment that celebrates diverse perspectives in the sciences. We encourage girls and other under-represented groups to apply. We admit 40 students each summer. (Please note that as of 2024 we are no longer accepting applications from sophomore students.)

International Students

U.S. citizens are eligible for GSTEM regardless of where they reside. Students who are not U.S. citizens but who are already in the U.S. on an F-1 student visa are also eligible. If you are a non-citizen with a different visa, please contact us so we can confirm your eligibility. International students (non U.S. citizens) currently living outside of the U.S. are not eligible to participate.

Schedule

Students must be available for all six weeks of the 2025 program, June 30 through August 8. No part of the program may be missed and attendance is required every day. Students may not participate in another program simultaneously with GSTEM.

Housing

Whether you live far, far away or down the block, any student interested in living on-campus during the summer may request summer housing. Additional information is available through the application process. Six weeks of housing in 2025 (which includes a meal plan) cost an additional $3,840.
