The European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS) has named Gautam Kamath a joint recipient of the 2026 Presburger Award, a prestigious honor recognizing young scientists for outstanding contributions to theoretical computer science. Professor Kamath is recognized for his pioneering work in algorithmic robust statistics, where he developed the first efficient high-dimensional estimators with optimal guarantees under adversarial corruption. His research also establishes critical links between differential privacy and robustness, providing deep insights into the theory of modern data analysis. Professor Kamath will join the Department of Computer Science at NYU’s Courant Institute as an Assistant Professor in September 2026.
