Center for Advanced Technology in Telecommunications (CATT)
The Center for Advanced Technology in Telecommunications and Distributed Information Systems (CATT) promotes industry-university collaborative research and development. Our mission, guided by the mission of our funding agency, is to create economic impact through research, technology transfer, and faculty entrepreneurship. The CATT is sponsored by the New York State’s Empire State Development’s Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR). Located at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, long-recognized as one of the best engineering schools in the country, the center draws on the expertise of over 50 researchers. Our team consists of leaders in the fields of electrical engineering and computer science. In addition to NYU Tandon School of Engineering faculty, the center also draws on the expertise of key researchers at Columbia University and New York University.

Center for Cybersecurity (CCS)
The NYU Center for Cybersecurity (CCS) is an interdisciplinary research institute dedicated to training the current and future generations of cybersecurity professionals and to shaping the public discourse and policy, legal, and technological landscape on issues of cybersecurity.
NYU CCS is a collaboration between NYU School of Law, NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and other NYU schools and departments.

Secure Systems Lab (SSL)
Computers are a pervasive and powerful part of our everyday lives. Unfortunately, due to poor security design, they often also present substantial risk to our privacy and safety.
The Secure Systems Laboratory (SSL) at New York University, under the direction of Professor Justin Cappos, works to find practical and deployable solutions to real-world security threats. Over the past few years, the lab has developed products and improved on existing system designs that detect and isolate security faults, secure private data, provide a secure mechanism for fixing software flaws in different contexts, and even foster a deeper understanding about how to help programmers avoid security flaws in the first place.
We focus on deploying our solutions in practice to maximize the impact of our work. In addition to the software we distribute, our technology is used in a variety of popular products including Docker, git, and the package managers for most Linux distributions.

Visualization Imaging and Data Analysis Center (VIDA)
The Visualization and Data Analytics Research Center at NYU consists of computer scientists who work closely with domain experts to apply the latest advances in computing to problems of critical societal importance, and simultaneously generate hypotheses and methods that new data sources and data types demand. We work in the areas of Visualization, Imaging and Data Analysis.
