Sam Bowman of the Departments of Linguistics, Data Science, and Courant-Computer Science was recently granted tenure and promoted to Associate Professor, effective this fall. Sam first joined the NYU faculty in 2016. He will spend a sabbatical year on leave as a visiting researcher at the private language modeling research lab Anthropic during AY 2022–23.
