ARC Prize University Tour
Speaker: François Chollet and Mike Knoop
Location: 6 Washington Place, Room Room 10
Date: Friday, October 11, 2024
The NYU Minds, Brains, and Machines initiative is happy to host a special event featuring Mike Knoop (Co-Founder, Zapier) and François Chollet (Founder, Keras) as part of their "ARC Prize 2024 University Tour." Despite recent progress in AI, substantial gaps remain between human and machine intelligence. The Abstraction and Reasoning Corpus (ARC) is a challenging benchmark of human and machine intelligence created by François Chollet in 2019. Despite five years of progress, state-of-the-art algorithms still perform relatively poorly at this challenge. The ARC Prize (http://arcprize.org) was established in 2024 to offer $1,000,000 for an AI system that matches the human ability to solve these problems. Francois and Mike will dive into technical approaches designed to defeat the ARC-AGI benchmark and discuss the past, present, and future of ARC Prize. The goal of the university tour and ARC Prize is to encourage research into broader sets of AI approaches beyond scaling large language models.
