Romain Lopez and Juan Carlos Perdomo Selected as AI Fellows by Schmidt Sciences

Romain Lopez, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Biology, and Juan Carlos Perdomo, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Data Science, were named among Schmidt Sciences’ fifth cohort of AI2050 Fellows. The 22 early-career fellows and six senior fellows will receive up to $16 million over three years to address critical long-term challenges in AI and help ensure the technology develops responsibly, expands human knowledge and benefits society. The new cohort brings the AI2050 community to 127 fellows across 50 institutions in 11 countries.
