Scott Armstrong, Chao Li, Maksym Radziwill, and Hong Wang Receive 2026 Frontiers of Science Awards

Four Courant faculty members have received 2026 Frontiers of Science Awards from the International Congress for Basic Science. The annual awards honor "research of the highest scientific value and originality that have made an important impact on its area within the past ten years."

Scott Armstrong, Professor of Mathematics, was recognized for "Renormalization group and elliptic homogenization in high contrast"

Chao Li, Assosciate Professor of Mathematics, was recognized for "Stable minimal hypersurfaces in ℝ𝟒"

Maksym Radziwill, Professor of Mathematics, was recognized for "Bias in cubic Gauss sums: Patterson's conjecture"

Hong Wang, Silver Professor of Mathematics, was recognized for "On Falconer's distance set problem in the plane"
