Summer 2025 Facilities Updates

June 2, 2025

NYU facilities teams are taking advantage of the quieter summer months to make some important upgrades at 60 5th Avenue and Warren Weaver Hall. Here's a look at current construction projects happening at Courant:

WWH Mercer Street Entrance

The WWH Mercer Street entrance will reopen the first week of June.

Gould Plaza Construction

Gould Plaza will close from 6/4/25 through 8/23/25 for the next phase of renovations. While plaza exits will remain open in case of emergency at West 4th Street and West 3rd Street, access to Warren Weaver Hall will be limited to the Mercer Street entrance over these summer months. The Mercer Street entrance will be open from 7am to 10pm. It is recommended that office occupants minimize their after-hours entry to WWH—as there will be limited Campus Safety staff available to escort office occupants to the WWH card reader on Gould Plaza. If you need to access your office between 10pm and 7am, please call ahead to 212-998-2222 (x82222) or visit the Main Campus Safety Office at 14 Washington Place.

WWH Caulking

All WWH exterior curtain wall caulking will be replaced under the manufacturer warranty. Work on this project will begin the first week of June and is expected to take a few weeks to complete.

WWH Server room HVAC upgrades

NYU IT is upgrading HVAC equipment in the 2nd floor server room at WWH. Some equipment will be delivered into the server room through the Graduate Student Lounge (room 203) during morning hours before 9am.

60 5th Ave LL11

A sidewalk bridge will be constructed around 60 5th Ave starting on 5/22/25 for Local Law 11 work. The work will last about 2 months, and the building's windows will be cleaned once the work is completed.
