He He, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Data Science, has received the Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award from the National Science Foundation to develop her project "Enhancing Diversity and Personalization in Human-AI Collaborative Writing."

The project "aims to measure the impact of LLM-based writing assistants on content diversity and develop methods for the next-generation writing assistants that enhance (as opposed to replace) personal voices." The research team "will provide insights and best practices to social scientists and policymakers on regulating generative AI technologies. The result of this research will also be integrated in undergraduate and graduate studies through both teaching and research activities."

CAREER awards are the National Science Foundation’s most prestigious award for junior faculty and are designed to help provide a foundation for a lifetime of scientific leadership. The awards are given to outstanding scientists who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through research, education, and the integration of education and research.

Professor He has also been named an AI Researcher of the Year by the Samsung Advance Institute of Knowledge.
