Lai-Sang Young Awarded the 2024 Rolf Schock Prize in Mathematics

Lai-Sang Young, Professor of Mathematics and Neural Science, has received the 2024 Rolf Schock Prize in Mathematics from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Professor Young is recognized "for long lasting and deep contribution to the theory of non-uniformly hyperbolic dynamical systems." She will present her findings at the Rolf Schock Prize Symposium in Mathematics at the Institut Mittag-Leffler in Djursholm, Sweden today.
The Rolf Schock Prizes are awarded annually for logic and philosophy, mathematics, visual arts and music. The laureates are selected through a unique collaboration between the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, with final decisions made by The Schock Foundation. This year’s other laureates are the linguists Hans Kamp and Irene Heim, director Steve McQueen, and singer Oumou Sangaré.
