Research Assistant
Research Assistants are paid as Semi-Monthly Students. Due to the structure of payments, Research Assistants are paid ahead of the working period (if all the information is submitted to Courant Payroll in a timely manner). Payment is issued on the 1st and the 15th of the month. If the 1st or the 15th of the month falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the payment should fall on the first business day before the weekend or the public holiday.
For example, the Research Assistant has worked from June 1st to June 15th. Provided June 1st is not on a weekend, payment should be expected on June 1st. An exception to this rule is New Year's Day. Payment on this day will fall on January 2nd.
Research Assistants should receive 9-payments in the Fall, and 9-payments in the Spring (dependent on if they are appointed for the Fall or the Spring, or both). If you are appointed for the Summer, Summer months can vary from one payment up to 6-payments depending on how many months you are appointed for (half a month up to three months).
