Abstract:
I will begin by discussing the role of sum rules in the spectral theory of orthogonal polynomials and the conjectures of Simon and Lukic for higher order sum rules in OPUC. Then I will discuss the new approach of Gamboa, Nagel and Roualt obtaining sum rules form the theory of large deviations. Finally, I will describe some recent joint work with Breuer and Zeitouni on using sum rules to partially prove a new case of Lukic's conjecture.
