Rational and integral points on algebraic varieties
One of the central problems in modern number theory
is to explore the relationship between the global geometry and
arithmetic properties of algebraic varieties.
In particular, one is interested in distribution properties
of rational and integral points in Zariski topology and with
respect to heights. I will explain some ideas and techniques from
algebraic geometry and harmonic analysis on adelic groups
used in the study of these distributions.
