Swastik Kopparty
received
his Ph.D. from M.I.T.
in 2010, and was advised by Madhu Sudan.
He was a postdoc at the Institute for Advanced Study.
Earlier, he had been an undergrad at IIT Madras and the University
of California, Riverside. At UCR he got interested in theoretical
computer science and coding theory, largely due to the guidance
of Ilya Dumer and
Chinya Ravishankar.
Swastik's fields of research include ${\mathbb F}_2$,
${\mathbb F}_p$, ${\mathbb F}_q$,
$\mathbb R$ and $\mathbb C$. He is also interested in complexity theory,
error-correcting codes,
table tennis, randomness and pseudorandomness.
