Daniel Gottesman graduated from
Caltech
in 1997; his advisor was
John Preskill.
He is best known for his work on stabilizer codes and on teleportation
of quantum gates. He has also worked on a variety of other quantum
information topics, particularly fault-tolerant
quantum computation, quantum cryptography, and quantum complexity.

Sandy Irani graduated from
UC Berkeley
in 1991; her advisor was
Richard Karp.
Her research has focused on the application of algorithm design
and analysis to computing systems.
In particular, she has specialized in the area of
on-line algorithms and their applications
to scheduling and resource allocation. In the last few years she
has been working in quantum computation.
