About Me
I am a fifth-year
PhD student at the Courant Institute of Mathematical
Sciences advised by Professor Alex
Mogilner, supported by the NSF GRFP. My
research interests are in the mathematical modeling and
numerical simulation of mechanical phenomena in cellular
biology, with a special emphasis on collaboration with
experimental laboratories. I am fascinated by how
mathematics and physics can be used to uncover underlying
principles and mechanisms of natural phenomena,
particularly in cases where experiments are not easy or
possible. Most recently, my focus has been on modelling
experimentally observed in vitro actomyosin
dynamics (see Research). |

Outreach
I believe it
is crucial that we work hard to
make mathematics more inclusive,
supportive, and welcoming to
individuals who have been
historically marginalized in the
mathematical sciences. In
pursuit of this, I co-organized
the Courant DEI
Reading
Group
during the
2022-2023 AY
and 2023-2024
AY, and
continue to be
an active
participant.
Previously, in
the 2021-2022
AY
I instigated
the formation
of and
organized
events for Courant's
Association
for Women in
Mathematics
chapter. Additionally,
in fall 2022 I
led the effort
to generate an
internal
Courant PhD
student survey,
intended to
assess the
concerns and
satisfaction
of PhD
students in
the
department.
Once
administered
by the Courant
Student
Organization,
I further
organized the
analysis and
careful
distribution
of the
anonymized
survey
results. I
assisted in
this process
again in fall
2023. |
