Software Installations

For Faculty only: Running MatLab on PC

Send email to helpdesk@cims.nyu.edu to request access to the matlab installation files. Then follow the instructions below.

Each of the zip files can be unzipped and burned to a CD. One file contains the software and the other contains the documentation.

The "plp.txt" file contains the personal license information that is required for the installation.

In addition, you will need the license.dat file which is on the servers under /opt/matlab/current/etc

Note: Only 50 users at a time - both PC and Unix - may be running MatLab simultaneously according to our license. Please do not run multiple simultaneous sessions. Also, please check on your sessions periodically to be sure there are no runaway processes.

Important PC provision: Matlab must be used on campus.
