Late this morning and early afternoon, access to services, particularly mail and Windows sessions, were disrupted due to apparent network saturation caused by a number of user processes using a specific software package.  We've identified the source and taken action to prevent a similar event in the future. However, we will also address the matter with ITS to determine whether there is something that can be done at the network level to prevent these types of events from occurring.
